Blues great Bessie Smith recorded Far Away Blues in 1923 as a duet with Clara Smith. The two Smith's are not related. The musical chemist Fletcher Henderson was on piano.
The title was recorded again in the 1960s by a great band with Kid Thomas Valentine and Ernie Cagnolatti on trumpets. It was very different from the original, and ours is more the later version.
One tune or the other, Noonie requested it all the time!

I happened upon Tuba Skinny and Erika L buskin’ in New Orleans on YouTube! I have Loved them ever since and play their albums daily! As a musician and band member in Canada, I can say that Tuba Skinny and their soulful renditions touched my soul in ways that have uplifted my life. We in the “great White North” can only dream of making New Orleans jazz like T S. Long Live Tuba Skinny and may their music become world wide for the enjoyment of all!! Davey1
