This was a rough time for many. Karl Kronqvist lost his son Johannes just weeks before these sessions, and Roberta and Patrick Tevlin lost their son Arthur around the same time. Amy Louie, of the family who own Grossman’s, died suddenly just a few days before the festival. Miss Noonie has left us, and Kjeld Brandt suffered severe strokes in 2012.
At the session we played The Old Rugged Cross for Amy Louie; here we play it for all those absent friends. Kjeld leads it beautifully.

I happened upon Tuba Skinny and Erika L buskin’ in New Orleans on YouTube! I have Loved them ever since and play their albums daily! As a musician and band member in Canada, I can say that Tuba Skinny and their soulful renditions touched my soul in ways that have uplifted my life. We in the “great White North” can only dream of making New Orleans jazz like T S. Long Live Tuba Skinny and may their music become world wide for the enjoyment of all!! Davey1
