about

One Sweet Letter is a pop tune from the 1920s and a dance hit during the swing era. It was popular in New Orleans dance halls of course too. Besides Bunk Johnson's and George Lewis' versions, there are Western Swing and even Metal recordings out there!

lyrics

Oh, how I need one sweet letter from you.
I'd like to read one sweet letter from you.

You know I've been praying both night and day through
Hoping to get one sweet letter from you.

Honey it's not fair, and you don't care for me dearly
If you don't mind, drop me a line, signed "Yours Sincerely."

You know that I'm praying both night and day through
Hoping to get one sweet letter from you.
