Just a few days before she died, Noonie’s family, the Happy Pals and a few close friends paid her a visit in the hospital. Now, Noonie would never have a party without music so the band set up, right there in Toronto Western, and played all her requests. After a while she was pretty tired and said, just one more. “What’s it gonna be, Noon?” “Kid Thomas Boogie Woogie!” It was the last song we played for her.
While working on this CD, I thought about this and went back to check if we had recorded Thomas Boogie on the session. Yes we had, and in a quiet section right near the end, you can hear Miss Noonie exclaim, “Alright!” and laugh her infectious laugh. It was like a final good-bye. It was wonderful.
Alright, Noonie!

I happened upon Tuba Skinny and Erika L buskin’ in New Orleans on YouTube! I have Loved them ever since and play their albums daily! As a musician and band member in Canada, I can say that Tuba Skinny and their soulful renditions touched my soul in ways that have uplifted my life. We in the “great White North” can only dream of making New Orleans jazz like T S. Long Live Tuba Skinny and may their music become world wide for the enjoyment of all!! Davey1
